Best Breakfast in Prescott
Prescott, Arizonas Best Breakfast Restaurants & Diners
Practically any Prescott local can tell you where to get the best breakfast in Prescott - it's their favorite restaurant that they have been going to twice a week for years! It is hard to say which restaurant is the best if you haven't tried All of them. Well, I haven't tried all of them either, not yet, but I am working on it - and you get the benefit of my breakfast adventures. From Biscuits and Gravy to Eggs Benedict, waffles to danish. Classic diners to upscale restaurants. I'm trying them all! So loosen your belt, We're Goin' to Breakfast! It is early on a Tuesday morning and we have arrived in downtown Prescott. It's easy to tell where the diners, restaurants and other assorted eateries are because the parking places closest to each of them are already full up. Breakfast in Prescott is a big deal! Having secured a parking place in the downtown parking garage on Granite St. just South of Gurley we headed for this mornings destination - An old time diner with a split personality.
The front of the
DinnerBell
Cafe is what I consider a typical small town diner. With well worn Naugahyde banquettes or, if you prefer, booths, a lunch counter that has seen many a year of use, the lunch specials for the week posted on a blackboard and the classic vinyl covered menus. On the walls are memorabilia from a movie that was filmed in Prescott 10 or 12 years ago. The menu has all of the breakfast classics. Waffles plain or fancy - you know stuff like banana/pecan- omelets, pancakes, oatmeal, fried eggs of every description, which are prepared by someone who knows how to cook eggs. If you want eggs over medium that's exactly what you will get.
Pair any of these offerings with crispy hash browns or country potatoes and any of a half dozen bread options like english muffins or rye toast, add a hot cup of coffee and there, my friend, you have a breakfast. Served up by a friendly efficient waitress it really doesn't get much more comfortable than this.
My wife is feeling a just slightly more upscale or touristy today so we have decided to try the
Creekside.
Tucked in right behind the Dinner Bell you can't see the Creekside from the street. You take the boardwalk that parallels Granite Creek to a nondescript door that opens on, perhaps, the best breakfast in Prescott. Built into a space that is a throw back to historic Prescott with exposed masonry, high ceilings and walls that are not exactly string straight, the restaurant is quaint to begin with.
Add the modern addition of glass roll up doors that overlook the creek and accent with pastel colors, coffee bag ceilings and local art on the walls and you have a really charming spot for a leisurely breakfast. The Creekside and the Dinner Bell share a kitchen and a menu, but some how they are different. A cappuccino seems more fitting here and ordering up a custom omelet at the Creekside seems more appropriate than at the DinnerBell - maybe it's just me but I would feel a little strange ordering a Jack Cheese and mushroom omelet while sitting next to a plumber that just received his order of 3 eggs, 6 slices of thick flavorful bacon, a short stack, 3 slices of toast and a mug of coffee. So if you want a great breakfast try either one of these terrific spots - you won't be sorry and, for now at least, they rate as my pick for the best breakfast in Prescott.
Other Good Breakfasts
Sweet Tart Cafe
is a pastry lovers dream come true. Maybe the best pastries in Arizona! Breakfast is pretty darn good too. Top it off with a little foam art on your mocha and you are good to go!
Sue Ann's Apple Pan
is another local favorite. Thick cut bacon and Mark's potatoes make this place a winner!
Cuppers Coffee House
is a popular stop for a good breakfast and terrific coffee, coffee frapes, mochas or in fact, coffee in most any incarnation.
Waffles n More
has been a local gathering place for as long as I can remember. Good food shared with friends, family or co-workers makes this busy restaurant a favorite among Prescott locals.
If you can't wait for me to get to a specific breakfast spot fill out the form and I'll get to it ASAP!
