Scouts Gourmet Grub
a Quick, Casual Prescott Restaurant
Scouts Gourmet Grub is a sandwich, pizza and salad shop that serves hearty fare in an unusual , interesting, National Parks themed restaurant on Iron Springs road in North Prescott.
Scouts is aimed right at the busy mom or dad who needs a place that they can take the kids, get in, get out and make everybody happy. Mission accomplished.
There is a kids menu, 4 veggie sandwiches, half a dozen individual size pizzas, salads and 20 or so “gourmet” sandwiches with a wide variety of meats, cheeses, veggies and the like to fill them up. There is even a ˝ sandwich and soup of the day for those with a lighter appetite. I had a Ruben sandwich with artichoke hearts and Swiss cheese which was toasted but not enough to melt the cheese. Different but not bad. My wife had a roast beef sandwich with green chilies which was disappointing. The roll was quite good but the roast beef had been steeping in it's own juice for way to long. It was literally falling apart and what flavor & color there may have been was long since leached out. For dessert the menu reads like one you might remember from summer camp – rice-crispy treats, smores and cookies.
OK food, good price, good place for the kids – This is a good place for quick casual lunch.
