Brown Bag Burger doesn't do fancy burgers, no pineapple or Adobo sauce, just standard burgers done to a higher standard. Fresh beef, huge portions, fresh toppings. Works for me.

El Charro Mexican restaurant on South Montezuma has opened their new dining room - and it is very nice indeed! Not fancy but definitely a contrast to the original dining room (which is still there). You might want to check it out. Prescott-good-eats hasn't reviewed El Charro as yet - but we plan to get there soon.

There is a whole bunch of new stuff happening at 129- 1/2 (one of my favorites as you know. First up is a new Wednesday Pasta menu that sounds delicious - check it out right here Next on the new list is the "Club Menu" which Barry Barbe describes as "A casual menu with Sandwiches, Salads, Appetizers and Pasta, priced a bit lower than our full entree menu. We still have the Bad Boy and Steaks, but now you can grab a great, lighter meal 4 C Mon Thurs in the Lounge and Parlor. So for those nights where you wanna stop in, but dont wanna eat a full meal ask to sit in the lounge and grab the Club Menu" And the grand finale, drum roll please, The new Happy hour menu includes 1/2 price appetizers on both the full dinner menu and the new "Club Menu". Monday through Friday in the lounge and parlor.

As we reported in the previous entry Saffron Bistro and the the affiliated culinary school suddenly closed. While we are not privy to the details, this much we do know - The Saffron Bistro and the culinary school are looking for new digs. There are 8 students that are currently enrolled in the school that have no place to go to learn their chosen trade. If you know of an available space or closed restaurant that might be usable or even an ongoing restaurant that would be willing to house the school on a temporary basis, or if you have any questions concerning the plight of these students, please call Darryl Tingler, owner of Saffron Bistro and The International Cuisine School, 928-713-6758

Saffron - The PV restaurant & culinary school - has closed until Thursday June 11th. We don't have all of the details yet but we do know that there will be a new chef a new menu and a new restaurant name when it re-opens. We will keep you updated! Meanwhile the wine bar and appetizers are still available.
