Cuppers

an Extraordinary Prescott, Arizona Coffee House and Restaurant

A couple of blocks South of the town square next to the Vendome Hotel you will find Cuppers Coffee House. It's another one of those businesses that moved in and recycled one of Prescott's many old Victorian homes into a charming place of business.

Cuppers Coffee House - A Prescott, Arizona restaurant Park right in front of this Prescott Restaurant on South Cortez - there are plenty of spaces available.

Finding a place to stand while waiting in the all but permanent line to place your order is a different story. This popular coffee house/ restaurant seems like it always has a line of loyal patrons waiting to order.

Really, that's not at all surprising. Cuppers has a lot to offer to it's patrons.

The breakfast menu includes several different varieties of  quiche, "skinny pancakes" (a fan favorite), breakfast sandwiches, bagels, oatmeal, coffee cake. You get the picture. There is a lot to choose from.

Add a coffee drink - anything from a double espresso to one of a dozen different mochas and you're good to go.

The lunch menu lists numerous salads, 1/2 portion salads, sandwiches, soups and combo's there of.

I ordered a slice of  bacon and provolone quiche($4.95) and a mocha ($2.95). My wife ordered a slice of chili relleno quiche and a latte ($2.65).

While we waited for our orders we found a place to sit in the adjacent "living room".

The walls are adorned with vintage hats, old time airline posters and the like. There are couches, overstuffed chairs, an organ and several tables for up to 4 people. This is a very cozy, comfortable room.

On one side a young lady is snuggled down into one of the overstuffed chairs with a newspaper and a latte. On another side are a couple of college students with open text books and two steaming cups of coffee. In the middle sits a dad and his two young kids with a plate of skinny pancakes, a muffin, coffee and juice. Cuppers Coffee House - A Prescott, Arizona restaurant

People are coming and going. About 1/2 with cups and mugs to go, the others finding a comfortable place to contemplate the day to come and to sip their morning brew.

Our order came and we got to it.

The quiche was good - maybe not the best I have ever had, but good. The bacon in my quiche was done ( I have a real problem with under cooked bacon) which was nice, the provolone was melted and delicious. The crust was fine - nothing extraordinary. Over all - good.  Ditto with my wifes quiche.

My Mocha was excellent. Rich, chocolaty and creamy, steaming hot. The wife's latte was excellent as well with a nice rich foam, not too much milk - just about perfect, and our Coffee came in a real ceramic mug - not a paper cup.

Cuppers Coffee House has good food and very good coffee, but that's only part of the reason this is such a popular place.

This is one of those places that has become a part of of the daily routine. The friendly smile and greeting, by name if you are a regular, the hot cup of your favorite brew in a Cuppers cup, a muffin or a bagel - Now you can start the day!

Friendly people, good food, excellent coffees. Maybe this is the place to start your day!

This Coffee House is a great place to get your morning caffeine fix. It would also be the perfect place to have a light lunch and a mocha frappe with your lady friends - there is a separate "green" room that seats six and provides a little bit of privacy.

Update:

I dropped in to try the Skinny Pancakes the other day  - Whoa Nelly! Thin but not so thin as a Crepe with syrup that has brown sugar in it?! These things taste good my friends- no wonder they are the most popular item on the menu.
